About

Here's who you're actually working with.

No team page. No agency story. Just an honest account of who I am and why I do this.

The real story

A different kind of background for a different kind of studio.

I'm Tim. My background isn't design — it's strategy.

I've spent years working at a senior policy and strategy level, understanding how organisations think, how decisions get made, and what actually drives results. I have a postgraduate degree in marketing. And over the last few years I've become a serious AI practitioner — the kind of person colleagues come to when they want to understand what AI can genuinely do for a business.

I started Aria Studio because I saw a gap. Not a gap in web designers — there are plenty. A gap in people who genuinely understand AI, can assess what it will actually do for a specific business, and can build it in. Not features sold on a spec sheet — tools that solve a real problem.

Most businesses know AI is changing things. Very few have someone who understands it well enough to know what applies to them, and can build it. That's the gap I work in — and a website is often just part of the answer.

AI changed what's possible for a studio like mine. I can now deliver — fast and affordably — what used to require an agency with separate strategy, design, and development teams. You deal with me directly throughout.

How I work

What working with me actually looks like.

We start with a conversation about your business — not your website. I want to understand what you're trying to achieve, who you're trying to reach, and what's holding you back right now.

From there, within 48 hours of our call I'll send you a link to your homepage — built with your brand and your message. You see the front door to your site before you commit to anything. Tell me what needs to change, and we only move forward when you're satisfied with the direction.

Every site comes with a simple editing interface — update your services, swap a photo, change your pricing — without needing me for the day-to-day. I build the engine. You drive it.

And when we work together, you get my direct attention throughout. Not a handoff to someone who doesn't know your business. If you message me, I reply. If something isn't right, we fix it.

The name

Why Aria.

"Ariā — concept, idea, likeness. The point where the abstract takes form."

Te reo Māori

In te reo Māori, ariā means concept, idea, and likeness — with a secondary sense of a visible representation of something intangible. In classical music, an aria is a solo vocal performance: one voice, full expression. Both meanings fit.

Every client I work with has something in their head — a vision for what their business could look like online, a sense that their current site doesn't reflect who they've become, an instinct that there's more possible than what they're showing the world.

My job is to make that visible. To take what's in your head and build something real around it — fast, strategic, and honest about what it's going to take.

What I believe

A few things I won't budge on.

Strategy before aesthetics

A beautiful site that doesn't convert is an expensive mistake. We start with what the site needs to do, then make it look great.

You own your content

Every site I build gives you control over your own words and images. You shouldn't need a developer to update your pricing.

AI where it earns its place

I'll tell you honestly what AI can and can't do for your business. The value isn't in adding features — it's in identifying the manual work that's costing you time or the leads you're not capturing, and building something targeted at that.

Honest over polished

If something won't work for your business, I'll tell you. I'd rather lose a project than deliver something that doesn't do its job.
